Homicide Victim Identified

 

Los Angeles – On December 21, 2000 at approximately 3:10 p.m., a female African-American, the apparent victim of a homicide, was discovered in the alley to the rear of 1714 113th Street.

The victim has been identified as Sandra Florence Smith, 54 years of age, of Long Beach. Smith’s sister filed a missing person’s report that led to her identity. Smith’s vehicle was impounded the day prior to her discovery as a result of a hit-and-run traffic investigation.

Detectives are still working on leads that may lead to the discovery of her assailant.

Detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is asked to call Detective Cedeno at 213-763-5056.
