Bicyclist Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: On January 21, 2002, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Raymond Wright, a 48 year-old male, was riding a bicycle eastbound in the 900 block of East 43rd Street. Two unknown suspects drove up to Mr. Wright. The passenger exited and fired several rounds with a semi-automatic handgun. Mr. Wright sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to USC Medical Center where death was pronounced at 3:50 p.m.

The suspects were described only as two young male Hispanics driving an older model vehicle.

The motive is unknown.
