North Hollywood: On January 21, 2002, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 18 year-old North Hollywood High School student Shadene Thompson, accompanied by friends, was confronted on the street by a lone gunman she knew from a past dating relationship. According to witnesses, the male suspect, 18 year-old North Hollywood student Jamari Chatrie, produced a handgun and shot Thompson in the head. Chatrie fled the scene, located on the 11000 block of Huston Avenue, and Thompson was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 11:00 a.m., January 22, 2002.
Suspect Chatrie remains at large wanted for murder.
Los Angeles Police Department, North Hollywood Homicide Detectives, will be holding a press conference to ask for public assistance to locate and allow police to apprehend suspect Chatrie. Photos of suspect Chatrie will be presented at the press conference.
