Female Driver Collides with Children and Teachers

"Female Driver Collides with Children and Teachers"

 

Eagle Rock-On January 30, 2002, at approximately 3:15 p.m., 65 year-old Kae Hak In from Glendale, entered the rear parking lot of the Westminster Academy, located at the 1400 block of Colorado Boulevard. Ms. In driving a 1978 Mercedes Benz, was there to pick up a student. For unknown reasons, the vehicle accelerated in an eastbound direction and struck a group of teachers and students waiting to be picked up by their parents. Ms. In's vehicle continued eastbound and struck another vehicle driven by Isagani Campanilla, a 41 year-old male from Eagle Rock.

Personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and airlifted two of the most injured to Children's Hospital where they are listed in serious condition. Rescue ambulances transported sixteen victims, including Ms. In, to local hospitals where they were treated for their injuries.

This investigation is being conducted by Specialized Collision Investigation Detail from Traffic Coordination Section in conjunction with Central Traffic Division Detectives.
