Shooting Takes Another Life

 

Los Angeles: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of a male Hispanic, approximately 19 years of age. The crime occurred in the 800 block of N. Alvarado Street, Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Rampart officers responded to an ambulance shooting investigation. Officers arrived at the scene and observed the victim down on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed the victim was standing in front of the location when the suspect walked up to the victim and shot him.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to USC Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The suspect and weapon are outstanding. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
