"Task Force Strikes at Zero-Tolerance for Crimes in
Devonshire Area"
Los Angeles: On Wednesday, January 15, 2003, Los Angeles Police
Officers from Devonshire Area, Valley Traffic Division and Valley Bureau
Headquarters, will focus on violent crimes and quality of life issues in the
San Fernando Valley.
The focus area is bordered by Nordhoff Street on the north, Roscoe
Boulevard on the south, 405 Freeway on the west and Van Nuys Boulevard on
the east.
Operations will commence at approximately 8:00 a.m. and will continue
past midnight. There will be zero-
tolerance for traffic violations and criminal acts in the affected
area.
Recent past task forces in other areas of the Valley have resulted in
hundreds of traffic citations and vehicle impounds. Additionally, several
arrests were made.
In the future, similar task forces to combat violent crime and improve
the quality of life will be conducted in other parts of the San Fernando
Valley.
