Los Angeles: On Friday, January 17, 2003 at approximately 8:55 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Area Patrol Officers responded to an "ADW Ambulance Enroute, Shots Fired" radio call located in the 1900 block of south 3^rd Avenue.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered that a shooting had occurred and four victims were hit by the gunfire.

One victim, 26 year-old Antwan Lamar Newton, was critically wounded and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m. Three other unidentified gunshot victims were transported to a local medical facility where they were expected to survive from their wounds.

The police investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by unidentified suspects was traveling southbound on 3^rd Street, when unknown caliber gunfire erupted and hit all four victims.
