Little League Predator Strikes Out

Los Angeles: On January 14, 2004, at about 12:45 p.m., detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit, arrested 45 year-old David Steven Schwartz at his office in the 15400 block of Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. Schwartz was arrested on a felony warrant charging him with multiple counts of sex crimes involving a child.

The investigation into Schwartz’ conduct began in January 2003, when an adult victim came forward and reported Schwartz had molested him during the time Schwartz was the victim’s Little League coach. The molestation of the victim began when the victim was 13 years old and continued for approximately three years. In addition to his position as a Little League coach, Schwartz has been an adult volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.

Schwartz remains in custody pending his arraignment on the charges. His bail was set at $400,000.00

Detectives believe Schwartz may have molested other children while he was a Little League baseball coach. A photograph of Schwartz is available at Media Relations Section (MRS) or can be E-mailed by personnel.
