"Drive By Shooting Claims the Life of One and Wounds
Another"
Los Angeles: On Sunday, January 25, 2004, at about 1:00 a.m.,
Northeast Area Police Officers responded to a radio call of, "Ambulance ADW,
Shots Fired" in the area of the 3800 block of Seneca Avenue. Upon the
officers’ arrival, they discovered two victims suffering from multiple
gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other
victim was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department
paramedics where he is listed in stable condition.
Witness accounts suggest the two victims were unsuspecting as they walked
from their car parked on the street to their residence nearby. The suspect
vehicle slowly approached the victims and once adjacent to them, an occupant
of the vehicle produced a handgun and fired several shots. Witnesses who
observed the incident describe the suspect’s vehicle as a gray or silver
pick-up truck and its driver as a male Hispanic who directed a derogatory
remark at the victims before the shots were fired.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang related and the suspect’s
identities are unknown at this time.
