Wanted Murder Suspect Captured in Florida
Los Angeles: On January 28, 2004, at about 8:00 a.m. (EST) a
suspect wanted for the 1999 murder of Woodland Hills businessman Christopher
Rawlings, was arrested in Hollywood, Florida. Boris George Graham, 31 years
old was taken into custody without incident by deputies from the Broward
County Sheriff's Department.
Graham was wanted for a felony warrant charging him with murder,
kidnapping, car jacking, robbery and felony evading.
Graham and a second suspect, Kirell Francis Taylor, 28 years old, are
accused of following Rawlings to his Woodland Hills home, assaulting him and
forcing him into the trunk of his 1998 Bentley. The suspects entered
Rawling's residence, took jewelry and other property, then fled in the
Bentley. Rawling's wife called the police while she and their children were
hiding from the suspects after climbing out onto the roof of their home.
Responding patrol officers arrived at the residence as the suspects were
driving off. A pursuit followed during which the suspects crashed the
Bentley into another vehicle on Tampa Avenue at Califa Street in Tarzana.
The vehicle crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Rawlings was ejected
from the trunk, and both suspects escaped. Mr. Rawlings was transported to
the hospital where he died from of his injuries.
Taylor was apprehended and convicted in August of 1999. He was sentenced
in October 2001, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Along with the State charges, Graham is charged with a federal violation
of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He is being held without bail at
the Broward county Jail. Extradition proceedings are underway.
