Los Angeles: A $25,000.00 reward offering is being made by the City of Los Angeles and the Office of Councilman Ed Reyes, regarding the shooting death of 15 year-old Raynero Ramirez.

On April 23, 2003, at about 10:00 p.m., Rampart Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of West 17th Street. Upon arrival the officers observed the victim down on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that the victim left his residence and walked down the street to 1014 West 7th Street to visit a friend. According to witnesses, approximately three gunshots were heard and the victim collapsed to the ground. The victim was able to summon help from a neighbor who called police and paramedics.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspects and the weapon are outstanding.
