2 Year-Old Beaten to Death

 

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Juvenile Detective Division, Abused Child Unit, is investigating allegations that two year-old Anthony Carrillo was beaten to death by his mother's live-in boyfriend.

On January 10, 2005, at about 7:50 p.m., Officers from Van Nuys area were called to a local hospital where the child was transported by his mother and her live-in boyfriend, Saul Vasquez. Medical personnel determined that the child was already deceased.

An autopsy conducted on January 12, 2005, revealed that Anthony died from severe, blunt force trauma. The case was ruled a homicide.

On January 13, 2005, after an additional investigation by the Abused Child Unit, Vasquez was arrested for 187 of the Penal Code-Murder. He is being held on $1 million dollars bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, January 18, 2005.
