Officer Involved Shooting, Results in Death

"Officer Involved Shooting Results in Death"

Los Angeles: On Monday, January 24, 2005, at about 2:45 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officers Ramon Guillen and Albert Flores, both with one year and seven months with the Department, were working Southeast Area patrol. The officers responded to an "unknown trouble" radio call in the 100 block of West 111th Place.

The officers arrived at the location and as they were approaching the house they heard an argument coming from an open front door. A man, later identified as 35 year-old Cameron Williams, came to the door and pointed a handgun at the officers which resulted in an officer involved shooting.

A Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance transported Williams to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Neither officer was injured during the confrontation.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Force Investigation Division detectives are conducting an investigation of the incident.

This news release was prepared by the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section, at 213-485-3586.
