Detectives Need the Public's Help

Los Angeles:   Police are seeking the public's help in finding any witnesses who may have either seen the collision, or who may have seen the driver or the car matching the description of the hit-and-run car.

On December 13, 2005 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Im Soon Kim, an 83 year-old resident of Los Angeles, was walking across Westmoreland Avenue near 8th Street, when she was hit by a car and killed.

The suspect left the scene in a faded red mid 80's Toyota RAV or Chevrolet GEO. Witnesses described the car with a spare tire on the right rear door.  The rear license plate was located on the rear door to the left of the spare tire. The car may have damage to the grill and hood area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dunn, West Traffic Division, at 213-473-0234.  On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
