On Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at about 7:00 p.m., the man, whose identity has not been determined, was pushing a shopping cart eastbound across Hoover Street at 47th Street, when he was hit by a gray Cadillac traveling southbound on Hoover. The driver of the car left the scene without providing assistance to the victim. A second vehicle, described only as a van, also traveling southbound on Hoover, then struck the victim as he lay in the roadway and dragged him approximately 50 feet. He was a male Black, with black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket, black t-shirt and jeans.
