Young Man Found Dead in Planter

Los Angeles: A 25-year-old Asian man was found dead in a raised planter outside an East Hollywood business on January 21, 2006. 

Los Angeles Police Department officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 4500 block of Lockwood Avenue around 5:45 in the morning.  A local resident directed the officers to a victim lying in the raised planter of an automotive repair business, located in the 4500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

The victim, identified as Noppol Hungsungnoen, had been apparently shot several times.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and there is no suspect description.
