Man Killed in Harbor City NR16022rh

Harbor City: The Los Angeles
Police Department Harbor Homicide detectives are asking for the
public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the
arrest of the suspect(s) who killed a 46-year-old man.

On September 3, 2015, around 7:10 p.m., Harbor Area patrol officers
responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Shooting”, in the 1700 block of W. 259th Street in Harbor City.
When officers arrived they found the victim lying on the driveway
suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect shot the victim and
fled the location through an alley just west of the location.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the
victim to a local hospital where he later died from his
injuries.

The victim later identified as, Ricardo Macias-Mendoza, a member of
the Harbor City business community. Mr. Mendoza owned “Guero’s Body
Shop & Paint” located in the 25900 block of South Western
Avenue in the Harbor City area.


The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, between 25-35 years of
age, stands between 5 feet 9 inches tall and 5 feet 11 inches tall,
with a mustache. He was last seen wearing dark clothing, black
boots and a dark baseball cap. He possibly fled in a dark colored
2009-2014 Dodge Charger.
