South Bureau Homicide Investigates Shooting

Victim#1: Sweeney, Africa T. Male, Black, 27 years of age (Deceased)
Victim #2: Male, Black, 28 years of age
Victim #3: Male, Black, 23 years of age

The names of the surviving victim’s are not available for release.

On Saturday, July 3,1999 at approximately 10:00 P.M., a shooting occurred in the 4200 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard. Victim Sweeney was transported to a local hospital where he died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds. A motive for this incident has not been established. Victim’s #2 and #3 were also transported to a local hospital for gunshot wounds and were treated and released.

The investigation is being conducted by LAPD South Bureau Homicide Detectives Chuck Knolls and Bob Dinlocker. Anyone with information regarding this incident may contact Detectives Knolls and Dinlocker at 213-847-1310.
