Kidnap for Rape Suspect Arrested

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, July 7, 1999

On July 6, 1999, between 12:05 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., victim Jane Doe, a Female Korean, 40 years, was kidnapped from the area of 3rd Street and Kingsley Avenue and driven to motel in the Alvarado Corridor, where she was sexually assaulted.

Wilshire Area Major Assault detectives responded to the scene and conducted an investigation.

On July 6, 1999, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for the aforementioned crimes and booked at Parker Center Jail for 209 P.C. (Kidnap for Rape) with a $500,000.00 bail. The case will be presented to the LA District Attorney's Office on July 8, 1999.

The suspect arrested was Arthur Anderson, a male Black, black hair, brown eyes, 5'10" tall, 165 pounds, 54 years of age, and a local transient.

There is an outstanding suspect described as a male Black, 6'3" tall, 30 to 35 years of age, bald head, stocky build, possibly driving an American made green vehicle.
