"Shots Fired in Watts Results in 3 Victims in Stable Condition"

Los Angeles - On Saturday, July 29, 2000, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Southeast uniformed patrol officers responded to a radio call of " Shots Fired" in the area of 114th Street and Success Avenue. Upon officers arrival they found two victims, a 19 year-old, male Black, and a 23 year-old female Black, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victims had been shot by three (3) male Black suspects and that the shootings could be gang-related. There is no further description of the suspects. Following the shootings however, the suspects got into a dark blue or black Chevrolet Suburban and fled southbound on Success Avenue and then turned in an unknown direction onto Imperial Boulevard. Another 19 year-old male Black victim of the shooting drove himself to a local hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the thigh. All three victims are reported in serious but stable condition.

The motive for the incident is unknown at this time.

Southeast Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detectives at 323-789-1493.
