"Hollenbeck Community To Host Its 7th Annual National Night Out"

Los Angeles - The Hollenbeck Community will host its 7th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. The event will begin with a community march from the Hollenbeck Area Community Police Station located at 2111 East 1st Street to the front of the new facility of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club located at 4th Street and Breed Street in Boyle Heights. Marchers will arrive at Hollenbeck Community Police Station at approximately 6:00 p.m., where there will be entertainment, refreshments, and food provided by the rally organizers. In addition, the New MEGA 92.3 FM Radio Station will be on hand broadcasting live and providing free prizes and promotional items to participants. Everyone participating is encouraged to bring a personal flashlight!

National Night Out is a nationwide annual event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate participation in local anti-crime efforts, and to strengthen neighborhood-police-community partnerships.

This event is co-sponsored by the Hollenbeck Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB).
