Northeast Homicide Investigation

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, July 29, 2001, at approximately 10: 15 P.M., 39 year old Ruben Argumedo, was shot and mortally wounded as he stood on the corner of North Avenue 64 and Garvanza Street. The suspects, described only as two male Hispanics, drove up to the intersection in a dark colored compact car. The suspects confronted and fired several rounds at the victim. Mr. Argumedo was struck and wounded during the confrontation. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he failed to respond to emergency medical treatment. Mr. Argumedo was pronounced dead at 11:00 P.M.

The suspects and weapon are outstanding. The motive for this homicide is under investigation.

Homicide detectives from Northeast Operations Support division are conducting the investigation.
