LAPD will hold a graduation ceremony for the classes of November 2001,
and January 2002.

Los Angeles Police Academy, 1880 North Academy Drive, Los Angeles.
Los Angeles: On Friday, July 26, 2002, at 10:30 A.M., the Los Angeles
Police Department (LAPD) will graduate 54 police officers. These officers,
42 males and 12 females, started their police training on November 2001 and
January 2002, completing 1064 hours of academy training in 28 weeks.
One hundred recruit classes, consisting of 5644 officers have graduated
since the inception of the L. A. Public Safety Plan in July 1993. Over 262
recruits officers remain in training with a new class scheduled to start
each month. The next graduation is scheduled for September 2002.
Police Chief Martin Pomeroy, city officials, members of the police
commission, police department command staff and their guests, will inspect
and address the graduating class.
It is anticipated that over 500 guests will attend this prestigious
ceremony. Please join the LAPD in welcoming these new officers as they
embark on their new career protecting and serving our communities.
