Shooting Claims 23 Year-Old


"Shooting Claims 23-Year old"

Los Angeles: On Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 2:20 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting at the Mobil Gas Station located at 15948 Roxford Street. Preliminary investigation revealed that Juan Carlos Cano, a 23-year old Antelope Valley resident, had been shot once in the head while seated as a passenger in his vehicle. Cano was transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department Rescue Ambulance to a local hospital where he died from his injury.

Further investigation revealed the shooting took place in the 14700 block of Polk Street. Unknown suspects in a SUV type vehicle followed the victim’s vehicle for several blocks firing numerous gunshots at the vehicle and its occupants.

The suspects have not been identified and the motive for the shooting has not been established.
