Two Shooting Incidents in 77th Area

"Two Shooting Incidents in 77th Area"

Los Angeles: 77th Street Homicide detectives are investigating two shooting incidents.

On Saturday night, July 27, 2002, about 10:15 p.m., Natalia Broomfield, 18 years-old, was standing in front of 1121 West 57th Street when she was shot by an unknown suspect.

Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Unit responded and transported Natalia Broomfield to a local hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The motive is unknown. The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.

On July 28, 2002, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Chester Finley, 42 years-old, was standing in front of 216 East 82nd Street when he was shot by an unknown suspect.

Chester Finley was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but died from his injuries.

The motive is unknown. The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.

The two shootings are not related.
