LAPD To Join American Heroes Air Show

 

Who:
Los Angeles City Council District 7, The Los Angeles Police Department, and The Department of Recreation and Parks

What:
A Profile of Aviation in Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue and Homeland Security

When:
Saturday, July 19, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where:
Hansen Dam Recreation Area, 11770 Foothill Boulevard Lake View Terrace, CA 91342

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, along with other city officials, local media personalities and other law enforcement entities invite members of the community to attend a unique and exciting community event that is the premier source for information, products and educational resources in emergency and homeland preparedness.

This event will feature several distinct elements:

American Heroes Air Show presents static displays and flight demos of helicopters from law enforcement, fire service, military, corporate and the media. Presented by the Rydell Automotive Group and Sikorsky Helicopters.

SAR TEAM1 - Teams from Mountain, Urban, Canine, Swiftwater and Military / SWAT Search & Rescue groups demo technical rope rescues, outdoor family safety tactics, gear layouts along with specialized equipment and SAR vehicles.

Rollin' to the Rescue presentation offers vintage & restored vehicles from law enforcement, fire service and emergency services. Presented by the Rydell Automotive Group of Van Nuys

Code 3 Career Fair delivers information on careers in law enforcement, fire service, the military, public safety and community service. Presented by the Los Angeles FBI Citizens' Academy

First Impact offers information, products from private vendors and resources from public agencies for communities and business to prepare for respond to and recover from emergencies, natural disasters and homeland defense incidents.

Entertainment, special safety demonstrations for kids, educational presentations and concessions.
