17 Year-Old Shot and Dies Two Days Later

Los Angeles: On Saturday, July 12, 2003, at about 8:50 p.m., the victim, a 17 year-old male Hispanic, was seated on the hood of a vehicle parked adjacent to his residence located in the 100 block of South Soto Street. The victim was confronted by two male Hispanics with shaved heads who shot him in the head and fled the location on foot.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and provided medical attention to the victim and transported him to the Los Angeles County USC Medical Center where he died from his injuries on July 14, 2003, at 7:45 p.m.
At this time no suspect(s) have been identified and the motive is possibly gang-related.
