Los Angeles: On Saturday, July 19, 2003 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Rampart patrol officers responded to the report of a stabbing investigation at 1126 Lemoyne Street. Upon arrival the officers observed the victim suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported the victim to USC Medical Center and he was admitted for emergency treatment. The victim failed to respond to the treatment and died as a result of the stab wound.

The investigation revealed the victim was walking through the parking lot at the rear of 1706 west Sunset Boulevard when he came to the aid of a male Hispanic who was being robbed at gunpoint. The victim was stabbed during the confrontation.

During the course of the investigation the suspect who was armed with the gun was identified and eventually arrested by uniform officers and detectives. The gun used during the commission of the robbery was recovered. Roberto Aragon, a 23-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was arrested and booked for Murder. The victim has been identified as Ruben Resinos, a 20-25 year old resident of Los Angeles. The second suspect, described only as a male Hispanic, is still being sought.
