13 Year-Old Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: 77th Street Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting incident that led to the death of 13 year-old Joseph Fleetwood Calloway, a resident of Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at about 11:15 a.m. Joseph was standing on the corner of 79th Street and Figueroa Street when he was approached by two suspects on bicycles. The suspects fired several rounds at the victim with unknown type handguns. The victim received multiple gunshots to his upper body.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where He died from his injuries, a short time later.

The motive for this incident has not yet been determined, but it appears to be gang related.

The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding. The suspects are described as male Blacks.
