Fatal Hit and Run Investigation

Los Angeles: An elderly Granada Hills man was struck and killed by a hit and run driver. 

On Saturday, July 16, 2005, at about 1:30 AM, 85-year-old Ralph Blackwood was taking a walk on White Oak Avenue south of Lulow Streetwhen he was struck by a car travelling northbound on White Oak Avenue.  The driver failed to stop and aid Mr. Blackwood and fled the location. 

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics pronounced Mr. Blackwood dead at the scene from massive trauma he had received.

The car was described only as red in color.
