West Traffic Division Sobriety Checkpoint in Wilshire Area

The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division (WTD) will be conducting a sobriety/driver license checkpoint in Wilshire area Saturday evening.  Officers and Reserves from WTD will operate the checkpoint in an effort to reduce the number of traffic collisions involving intoxicated and unlicensed drivers.

The Officer-in-Charge of West Traffic Division is Captain David E. Baca. The Officer-in-Charge of the Sobriety/Driver License Checkpoint is Sergeant O.C. Smith of the Driving Under The Influence Team. The California Office of Traffic Safety has provided funds to conduct this operation as part of its efforts to support the apprehension of drunk drivers.
