Neighbor Dispute Leaves One Man Dead

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in capturing a gunman who shot and killed a man on the Fourth of July in front of his residence.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at about 11:25 p.m., Deontrell Deshon Johnson, 20, was shot and killed during a neighbor dispute.

Mr. Johnson and his family were involved in an argument with their neighbors, at an apartment complex in the 7800 block of South Figueroa Street. The argument escalated to a fight with several individuals and Mr. Johnson. One of the individuals armed himself with a handgun and shot Mr. Johnson multiple times.

Mr. Johnson was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

The suspect and weapon are still outstanding.
