Man Shot to Death in Van Nuys

Los Angeles: Police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding any witnesses who may have seen the shooting of a Van Nuys man on Thursday.

On July 27, 2006, around 11:10 p.m., police responded to a shooting call in the 6700 block of Haskell Avenue. When they arrived, officers found Alfonso Basulto, 43, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest. Mr. Basulto was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The suspects were two Hispanic men who left the area in a dark SUV.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.
