Officer Shot a Dog
Los Angeles: An officer had to shoot a dog when it attacked him.
On June 29, 2007, at about 6:30 PM, Officer Osvaldo Castillo was impounding a vehicle in the 1500 block of Meadowbrook Avenue. A large pitbull advanced Officer Castillo barring its teeth. Officer Castillo fired two shots with his duty weapon and struck the dog.
The dog was not killed.
Officer Castillo, 34, has been with the Department for 8 years and 5 months.
West Traffic Detectives are investigating the shooting.
