National Counter-Terrorism Academy Graduation

What:
National Counter-Terrorism Academy (NCTA) pilot program graduation.

When:
July 22, 2008 1:30 – 2:00 p.m.

Who:
Chief William J. Bratton
Deputy Chief Michael Downing

Why:
Chief Bratton will speak to the 2008 graduating class of the NCTA pilot program, which ran from March 10 – July 22. Nearly 60 students from 25 agencies in California and Nevada received instruction in topics including terror financing, how terrorist use the Internet and global and local threats to communities. The core audience for the training was mid-level law enforcement officers. They were joined by their professional counterparts in the fire service and private security.
