Man Arrested for Murdering His Brother

Los Angeles: A 64-year old man was shot to death by his brother on Wednesday after an argument.

On July 16, 2008, at around 5:30 p.m., Wilshire Area officers responded to a Shots Fired call in the 1000 block of south Crenshaw Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they found the victim, William Kaddis, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers pulled Kaddis out of the line of fire. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his wound.

Investigators learned that the suspect, Edward Kaddis, 61, had shot William through a metal screen door and had barricaded himself inside the home refusing to come out for several hours.

LAPD Special Weapons And Tactics Team responded to the scene and negotiated with Edward to surrender shortly before midnight.

Edward Kaddis was arrested and booked for murder. The bail was set at $1,000,000.

Further questions may be directed to Wilshire Homicide Detective John Shafia at
213-473-0446. After hours or on weekends, calls may directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
