Family Seeking Help for Missing Van Nuys Man NR09331ah

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department and family members of a missing man are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Robert Alan Korda, 54, of Van Nuys.

Korda is described as a white male with grey hair and brown eyes.  He was wearing glasses and a goatee.  He stands 5 feet 5 inches and weighs approximately 135 pounds.  It is unknown what type of clothing Korda was wearing.

Korda was last seen at around 3:00 p.m. at his home located in the 6500 block of Greenbush Avenue, on July 8, 2009.  Family members told police that Korda is a violinist and was scheduled to work on July 8, 2009 at Gower Studios but never showed up.  The family also advised police that it is out of character for Korda to have lost contact with his family.

Korda’s mental condition is described as good.  However, he does take medication for having high cholesterol.

Detectives believed that Korda is driving his white 1993 Chevy Geo Metro, California license plate 3-G-P-J-4-5-3.

Anyone who may have seen or has information about this missing person is encouraged to contact LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 213-485-5381.  During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247).  Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web tips.  When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.”  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
