WHY: The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 46 police officers, with 37 males and 7 females. The ethnic breakdown of the class is as follows: 11 Caucasians, 24 Hispanics, 5 African American, and 6 of Asian descent. Graduating officers have completed 912 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks. Among the graduates are 1 Los Angeles Port police officer and 1 General Services police officer.
Assistant Chief Papa will inspect the class and it is anticipated that over 500 guests will attend the graduation ceremonies.
