Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision in Midtown L.A. NR12331cj
Los Angeles: On July 14, 2012, around 11:20 p.m., LAPD West Traffic Division officers received a call of a traffic collision on Olympic Boulevard and Norton Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the street who appeared to have been struck by a car. Los Angeles Fire Department rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators believe that car traveling eastbound on Olympic Boulevard in the number one lane collided with a pedestrian who was walking northbound across Olympic Boulevard outside of a crosswalk. The driver of the car continued eastbound on Olympic Boulevard without stopping to render aid or show identification. There is no description of the car or the person driving. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification to next of kin.
