WHY:   
LAPD Baseball Team will host a baseball clinic and a historic rivalry baseball game vs. L.A. Sheriff´s baseball team for 500 kids at the LAPD Baseball Team’s Swing-A-Thon 2014.

DETAILS:   
On Friday, July 11, 2014 the LAPD Baseball Team will once again face the LASO Baseball Team in a friendly baseball game with over 127 years of rivalry.

The LAPD Centurions Baseball Team is made up of 30 sworn Los Angeles Police Officers, who travel around the U.S., representing Los Angeles in Police and Fire tournaments and events. The sworn Officers volunteer their own time when traveling and when hosting clinics and baseball events for youth.
 
Following the game there will be interactive activities which include a free youth baseball clinic given by the LAPD and LASD baseball team members, interactive games and contests for prizes, including Dodger tickets,   public safety displays including the LAPD Helicopter, face painting, Digital Photo ID booth, video game truck, music, drinks, free lunch for 500 kids, fun, and many other surprises.  As always LAPD Baseball Team’s events are free to the entire community.
