Robbery Suspect Killed by Partner in Botched Armed Hold Up NR14275jm

El Sereno: On Friday, July 18, 2014, around 11:15 am, two male robbery suspects entered a business in the 5300 block of Alhambra Avenue in the El Sereno area of Los Angeles.  The first suspect produced a weapon and approached an employee of the business.  The second suspect was armed with a rifle and demanded money from the employee.  A struggle began between the first suspect and the employee.  During the struggle, the second suspect fired one round, striking the first suspect.  The second suspect ran from the location and was apprehended by responding Hollenbeck Area patrol officers.  The first suspect was given medical treatment at scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department, but failed to respond to the treatment and was pronounced dead.
