Dead Body Found in Harbor

Tuesday, June 13, 2000



"Dead Body Found in Harbor"

Terminal Island - On Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at 4:00 a.m., the body of a deceased female was observed in the water at Warf Street and Seaside Avenue on Terminal Island in the Los Angeles Harbor. The person who first discovered the nude body made reports to the Los Angeles Harbor Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. They responded with boats and the woman's body was transported to a nearby dock.

The Homicide Detectives from LAPD's Harbor Community Police Station responded and a homicide investigation is underway. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was stabbed multiple times. The victim is described as either Caucasian or Hispanic with dark hair, in her mid 20's. She has numerous tattoos including the name "Mary Ann" above her left breast.
