Ten Year Old Girl Sexually Assaulted

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, June 13, 2000

"Ten Year Old Girl Sexually Assaulted "

San Pedro - On Sunday, June 11, 2000, a ten year-old victim was walking with seven family members. The victim and her thirteen year-old sister decided to run ahead and race each other home. The victim reached an alley in the 200 block of West 16th Street when a suspect grabbed the victim and forced her into a newer model, red, two-door compact hatch-back vehicle with gray interior. The victim's thirteen-year-old sister witnessed the abduction.

The suspect forced the victim onto the floorboard of the vehicle and drove her into a garage at an unknown location. The suspect took the victim into an apartment or motel type residence. Once inside, the suspect forced the victim to disrobe and sexually assaulted her. The suspect led the victim out of the location, took her back to the vehicle, and drove her to the corner of Delasonde Drive and Montereina Drive where she was dropped off. The victim ran to a nearby house where a resident assisted the victim by notifying her family and the police of her whereabouts.

The suspect was described as a male, Hispanic or White, black hair, hazel or blue eyes, 5-8/5-9, medium build, 20-30 years old. A composite drawing of the suspect has been completed and is available for viewing at the Harbor Operations Support Division, 2175 John S. Gibson Boulevard, and San Pedro.

The Rape Special Section of Robbery-Homicide Division is conducting the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to call Robbery-Homicide Detectives at 213-485-2921 or 213-485-2504 during non-business hours. For more information regarding this incident, please contact Media Relations Section at 213-485-3586.
