Monday, June 19, 2000



"Woman Fatally Shot on Crenshaw Boulevard"

Wilshire - On Sunday, June 18, 2000, at approximately 3:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, a 21-year-old female was fatally shot. While attending a party, the victim engaged in a verbal dispute with a Black male in front of the location. During the argument, the male removed a handgun and shot the victim in the upper portion of her body. The suspect fled the location in an unidentified vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle; however, she died as a result of her injuries.

Associates of the victim pursued associates of the suspect. During the pursuit a fierce gun battle ensued between the individuals. There was no evidence of injury resulting from the shoot out.

The motive for this incident has not been determined.

Wilshire Area Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is urged to contact Detectives Schaper or Bolan at 213-473-0444.
