"Man Shot Dead on Sidewalk, Possibly Gang-Related"
 

Hollywood – On Saturday, June 2, 2001, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Hollywood Division patrol officers responded to a radio call of "shots fired" in the 5600 block of Harold Way. Upon their arrival, they discovered a Caucasian male lying on the sidewalk, the apparent victim of multiple gunshot wounds. The officers summoned Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel who responded and attempted to provide life-saving medical treatment. The victim did not respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots but nobody could provide information regarding suspects, weapons or means of escape. Thusfar, Hollywood Detectives believe the incident to be gang-related. The suspect(s) and murder weapon remain outstanding.
The victim has been identified as Anthony Selim Mikhail, 30 years of age and a resident of Van Nuys.
