"Rescue Me" Night at Staples Center

Los Angeles Police Department Centurions vs. Los Angeles County Sheriffs/South Bay Blue Knights vs. LA Fire
Los Angeles – Please participate and support the LAPD, the LA Fire Heat, the South Bay Blue Knights and the LA County Sheriff’s Department in a day of football games to benefit the Blind Childrens Center and other local Charities. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2001, four National Public Safety Football League (NPFSL) teams will be playing each other in exhibition games in the Staples Center.
After the exhibition games, law enforcement and public safety officials will be available to meet the public and show the equipment utilized by the specialized units. Three helicopters, one of the shot police cars involved in the North Hollywood shootout, a Tactics training vehicle and exhibitions from S.W.A.T., the Mounted and K-9 Units, Motor Units, Recruitment and D.A.R.E will be displayed in Parking lot # 3, (11th Street & Figueroa.)
The benefit will continue with the Los Angeles Avengers Arena Football Team playing the Detroit Fury. A portion of all tickets sold that night will go to benefit the Blind Childrens center and other local Charities. A reception and half-time presentation will congratulate the NPFSL West Coast participants (LAPD, LA Fire Heat, South Bay Blue Knights, LA County Sheriffs) and announce the 2001 NPFSL Champions, the LAPD Centurions.
