Shooting Investigation in 77th Area

"Shooting Investigation in 77th Area"

 

Los Angeles - On Saturday morning, June 16, 2001, at approximately 3:40 a.m., the victim Larence Curtis Nelson, 26 years old, was standing on the sidewalk in front of 7329 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles. Victim Patrina Johnson, 32 years old, was walking southbound on Figueroa Street when unknown suspect(s) fired several rounds in their direction. Nelson sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was transported to Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Johnson sustained a single gunshot wound to her face and was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

The motive is unknown.

The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.
