16 Year-Old Shot To Death in Sylmar

 

Sylmar: On Monday, June 25, 2001, at approximately 9:50 P.M., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW), shots fired" at the 12700 block of Bradley Avenue in the Sylmar area of Foothill Division. Upon arrival, the officers located a 16-year-old male shooting victim down at the scene. The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Foothill Homicide detectives responded to the scene. Detectives have not been able to locate any eyewitnesses to the shooting. The investigation revealed the victim was shot by unknown suspect(s) in the 12700 block of Bradley Avenue.

The motive for the murder has not been determined. The weapon and the suspect are not in custody.

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking assistance from any witnesses who may have observed the shooting. The community is asked to contact Foothill Homicide Detectives at 818-834-3115 or 818-834-3102 during daytime hours, and 818-756-8861 during evening hours.
