"Death of Gardner Appears to be Accidental
Drowning"
Los Angeles: On Thursday, June 6, 2002, at
approximately 1:45 P.M., Van Nuys uniformed officers responded to a
"Death Investigation" radio call at 3333 Beverly Ranch Road. Upon
arrival the responding officers observed the lifeless body of a male
Hispanic, 27 years of age, in the in pool area, to the rear of the house.
The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately
1:00 P.M., two gardeners arrived at the location and began to do their work.
One of the gardeners went into the backyard and one remained in the front
yard. At approximately 1:30 P.M., one of the housekeepers went to the back
yard and found the victim face up in the deep end of the pool. She notified
the other gardener and attempted to pull the victim out of the pool. The
housekeeper was able to partially get the individual out of the pool, but
the victim was not breathing.
The Los Angeles City Fire/Paramedics arrived and attempted
to resuscitate the victim with negative results and he was pronounced dead
at the scene.
There were no signs of foul play and the incident is being
treated as an accident at this time. The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office will
conduct an investigation to determine the cause death and to notify the next
of kin.
