Reward Offered for Murder Victim

LAPD Southeast Community Area Police Station, 145 West 108th Street, Los Angeles

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Victim Arthur Terry Washington, a male Black, 53 years of age, was seated in the drivers seat of his 1977 brown Cadillac Seville, which was parked in the parking lot to the rear of 11150 South Figueroa Street. Three suspects walked up and fired into Washington’s vehicle, striking him in the upper torso. After the shooting, the suspects turned their gunfire towards additional victims who were in a 1998 burgundy Toyota Corolla , which was parked on 111th Place adjacent to the parking lot. Two victims in the vehicle were struck by the gunfire. The suspects were only described as three male Blacks in their late teens to mid twenties.

The subsequent investigative leads have come to a standstill. Southeast Area Homicide detectives are requesting any assistance to help identify the suspects involved. A request was made to Councilwoman Hahn’s office for a reward to assist in the investigation.

A $25,000 reward for information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspects responsible for the murder of Arthur Washington will be announced during the press conference.

Councilwoman Janice Hahn, Southeast Area Commanding Officer, Captain Richard Bonneau and Victim’s family members will be in attendance.
